באסופה נכתב: באחת הטיוטות שוינבר כתב ללחן זה הוא מתאר אותו כניגון מתוך 'המכשפה' ('די כישופמאכערין') לאברהם גולדפדן, כפי ששמע בהצגת התיאטרון היהודי הממלכתי במוסקבה, בברלין בשנת 1927. למרות זאת, לא ברור האם הניגון הוא באמת של גולדפדן והאם היה חלק אינטגרלי מתוך המחזה

In the collection: In one of the drafts for this melody, vinaver describes it as a nign  from Di kishefmakherin by Abraham goldfaden, as he heard it in Berlin in 1927. But it is not clear whether the nign was composed by Golfaden or if it was an integral part of the play
